Ray Mahan

Scan Design Furniture, Inc.
As president of Scan Design, Mahan oversees merchandising and marketing. He collaborates with suppliers throughout the world to provide customers with products known for their fresh European design and superior quality. By increasing operational efficiencies and cultivating long-term relationships with customers, vendors, and employees alike, Mahan has grown company revenues to new heights in recent years.
Mahan joined Scan Design in 1983 and worked his way through every level of the organization. He took a brief two-year hiatus in the mid-1990s to grow his operations management skills at Norvanco International. Here he directed the London Fog account. Today, he derives great satisfaction from helping employees advance their careers at Scan Design.
A close relationship with Scan Design Founder Jens Bruun left Mahan with an understanding of European contemporary design, a strong work ethic and a belief in the value of an employee-driven culture. His passion for product design has taught him the importance of setting aside personal taste and listening to the consumer.
Mahan’s proudest career accomplishments to date include establishing the Hawaii operation and better matching inventory to customer demand at the company’s Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii distribution centers. Employees and customers appreciate his straightforward and energetic approach to business.
Mahan resides in Maple Valley, Wash. with his wife and son. |
